Build 70291:
Dalaran opens
Blizzard opened the City of Dalaran dungeon for testing on October 8. The client shows it was ready all along: the same map, nine boss rows and a level-28 tuning since the first beta build. What build 70291 did change is everything around it. The Violet Sorcerer's Vestments got their first set bonuses, low spell ranks were rebased, Penance and Thorns came down, and the Excavation Site's quest rewards turned green.

70205, 70235 and 70245 serve the same tables as 70170, so this piece compares 70170 with 70291. For what 70170 itself brought (level 30, the quest-XP cut, PvP prices, the first class pass), read our level-30 overview.
What changed for your class
Every class, old number to new, and who says so. Paladin first: the Dalaran run above was played on one, and these are the cuts it met. Each row links to its detail further down. Two Paladin rows and the wolf's Furious Howl changed in the October 1 build (70170), not this one; they are here because a level-30 character met them this week, and they say so.
45 changes · 13 nerfs · 11 buffs · 21 fixes, reworks and rebases
Paladin the class a player ran Dalaran on
Detail
Ranks 1 to 5: 7 / 12 / 18 / 24 / 30 → 5 / 8 / 12 / 16 / 20 Holy damage per hit taken. Rank 2, the rank from level 26 to 35, shown. Blizzard adds 6% of your spell power on top; the client does not carry that number.
Detail
Block chance per rank 6 / 12 / 18 / 24 / 30% → 4 / 8 / 12 / 16 / 20%. Changed in the October 1 build, 70170, not in this one; it is here because a level-30 Paladin met it this week. Detail in the level-30 overview.
Detail
A 1.5 sec cooldown between procs. The chances themselves (8 to 40% after a block, 20 to 100% after being crit) did not move.
Detail
Block chance while it is up. Also the October 1 build (70170); the damage per block (110 at rank 1) is unchanged. Detail in the level-30 overview.
Detail
Their mana returns no longer cause threat: both gained a flag that reads as "no threat" (inferred).
Detail
The buff the talent applies printed 15%; it now prints the talent's own top rank, 3%. In play the talent rank set it anyway (inferred), so this is a text fix, not a cut.
Druid
Detail
Ranks 1 to 6: 4 / 9 / 11 / 13 / 16 / 22 → 3 / 6 / 9 / 12 / 15 / 18 Nature damage per hit taken. Rank 3, the rank from level 24 to 33, shown. Blizzard adds 6% of spell power; not in the client.
Detail
Energy from Shifting Power. Its Rage from Enrage stays 5.
Detail
Was Predatory Instincts. Keeps the 10 / 20% crit damage and adds spell healing equal to 12 / 25% of Intellect.
Detail
The passive's threat modifier.
Detail
Every rank now causes threat: 8 / 16 / 26 / 34 / 42. Rank 2, the rank from level 20 to 31, shown.
Detail
Ranks 2 and 4 lose base damage (23 → 21, 38 → 37) and ranks 1 to 5 grow slower per level. Rank 5, the rank at 30, is unchanged.
Priest
Detail
Rank 1, per hit: damage 81 → 42, healing 184 → 126, mana 100 → 150. The spell-power coefficient fell from 0.285 to 0.19 on every rank (Blizzard's "3-second channel" bug, inferred link). Only rank 1 is reachable at 30.
Detail
Ranks 2 and 3 heal more: 78 → 94, 141 → 163.
Detail
Ranks 1 and 2 heal less: 291 → 270, 405 → 375. Rank 3, the rank from level 28, is unchanged.
Detail
Ranks 2 and 3 down (28 → 27, 46 → 45), rank 4 up (59 → 60). Rank 5 at 30 is unchanged.
Mage
Detail
Ranks 2 and 3 down (37 → 32, 53 → 51), ranks 4 and 5 up (74 → 77, 108 → 120). Rank 6 at 30 is unchanged.
Detail
Rank 2 down (33 → 29), ranks 4 and 5 up (60 → 70, 95 → 104). Rank 5 is the rank at 30: at level 30 it goes 101 → 109.2 (inferred, Classic's per-level rule).
Detail
Ranks 2 and 3 up per missile (31 → 34, 44 → 47). Rank 3 is the rank at 30: 46 → 48.6 per missile at its own cap (inferred).
Shaman
Detail
Rank 1 up (14 → 15), rank 2 down (29 → 27), ranks 4 and 5 up (56 → 61, 72 → 82). Rank 5 is the rank at 30: 74.8 → 84 at level 30 (inferred).
Detail
Learn level of the talent spell: reachable under the cap now.
Detail
The buff now shows 2% and 1 charge (was 0.67% and 3); the 15 sec cooldown that never applied is gone from the spell. Nothing restores more or less mana.
Detail
A new spell returns 25% of each totem's mana; the Forever copy still prints 0%. The mana-return piece of Blizzard's October 1 fix (inferred).
Warlock
Detail
Ranks 2 and 3 down (25 → 23, 41 → 40), rank 4 up (56 → 58). Rank 5 at 30 is unchanged.
Detail
The pet's branded hits cause high threat only when they deal Shadow damage (was always).
Detail
Your current pet is stunned for 10 sec while you summon another: the new stun spell (inferred link).
Hunter
Detail
The Mongoose Bite window after a dodge.
Detail
Proc entries 20 and 4 became 100, so the talents' own 4 to 20% and 7 / 13 / 20% now set the chance (inferred). Wing Clip's lower chance on low ranks is server-side.
Detail
The pet damage bonus became a flat modifier, still 20; Blizzard: it "now correctly increases your pet's damage".
Detail
Its root is now on diminishing returns.
Detail
Attack power: rank 3 100 → 60, rank 4 136 → 82. The October 1 build, 70170, announced on September 24 and unchanged in 70291. Detail in the level-30 overview.
Warrior the Fury rebuild, announced October 1, in a client file for the first time
Detail
Share of Attack Power per hit; the flat part stays 30 / 37 / 43 / 48. It no longer needs Death Wish ().
Detail
Improved Cleave (−1 / 2 / 3 Rage on Cleave), Boundless Rage (+10 / 20 / 30 max Rage), Toughness (+2 to 10% armor from items), Precision (+1 / 2 / 3% hit;).
Detail
Furious Precision (off-hand hit +4 / 7 / 10%), Lingering Rage (Rage decays 2 to 10 sec later), Gore Drinker (melee hits heal 0.5 / 1% of max health; Fury row 6, above the cap).
Detail
Loses the 2 to 10% off-hand hit (Furious Precision takes that job); gains 10 to 50% more Rage from off-hand hits.
Detail
Unbridled Wrath loses its 2-Rage bonus for two-handers (back to 1); Blood Craze no longer triggers from Bloodthirst damage.
Detail
Cleave and Whirlwind cost 3 less Rage (was Cleave 2); all four shouts reach 10 to 50% farther and cost 5 to 25% less.
Detail
Seconds off Slam's cooldown per point.
Detail
Trained level.
Detail
Flurry now needs Death Wish (was Enrage); Impale needs Deep Wounds again.
Detail
Every rank now causes threat: 11 / 19 / 27 / 35 / 43. Rank 2, the rank from level 24 to 33, shown.
Rogue
Detail
Expose Armor's armor effect moved to a new aura type, same values. Nothing else in the Rogue tables moved.
Racials
Detail
Its three dispels became short immunities, so it works while asleep or charmed. No other racial changed.
Gear quest rewards that turned green
Detail
Rare → uncommon with smaller stats, e.g. Ironwood Destroyer 27.9 → 22.4 dps and its Stamina, Spirit and Attack Power replaced by +19 Nature Spell Damage. Three follow-up rewards stay rare with moved stats.
Detail
Ten of the 16 rewards are uncommon at 70291 and re-statted: four read in game (Violet Sash, Runebound Gloves, Fallen Guard's Pendant, Arcane Infused Rod; the Sash: +12 Intellect, +7 Spirit → +9 Intellect, +6 spell power) and six more in ForeverChanges' build-70291 item files. Four stay rare with stats moved; two are unchanged.
"Was → now" is the client's own number for the rank a level-30 character has where ranks differ, 70170 against 70291; percentages are plain arithmetic on those two numbers. "At 30" values use Classic's per-level rule and are inferred. The 6% spell-power ratio on Retribution Aura and Thorns, the Rage fixes, the Druid crit Rage and the dungeon XP changes are server-side and in section 9.
The City of Dalaran
Here is everything the client, players' loot records, QuestBank uploads and a first run say about it.
“Now available for testing: the new City of Dalaran dungeon.”
Blizzard's October 8 notes Blizzard Oct 8
- September 12 and 15Dalaran was announced at BlizzCon on September 12 as one of nine new dungeons, and on September 15 (00:59 UTC; the evening of the 14th, Pacific time) Kaivax put it at levels 28 to 33 (Blizzard).
- October 1It stayed shut through the level-30 build on October 1, when Wowhead's headline read "No Dalaran Dungeon".
- October 8On October 8 the realms went down for maintenance from 9:00 a.m. PDT (Blizzard), wago.tools lists build 70291 at 20:25 UTC, and Blizzard's notes went up at 21:32 UTC with the dungeon at the top.
- That 70291 is the build from that maintenance is inferred from the timing.
What the client holds
RuinsofDalaran: it was first called Ruins of Dalaran (inferred). One more oddity: the Map row keeps a fixed time of day, 1380. Read as minutes after midnight that is 23:00, a night sky (inferred). The Ruins of Lordaeron dropped its own fixed time in this build (150 to −1), which leaves Dalaran the only instance in the client with one.

The Excavation Site's rows were just as unchanged when it opened on October 1. So opening a dungeon is a server-side switch (inferred). Blizzard's September 24 notes had one Dalaran line, "Faction adjustments", the same build the Kirin Tor start moved.
Boss by boss: nine in the client, and the first drops
The client names nine encounters and holds no loot table (it has no Dungeon Journal), so these are the drops QuestBank recorded in players' runs, boss by boss, plus a few seen in the clip or at the demo. Where a run did not record which boss dropped an item, its card places it by the item's name and says so (boss by name). Drops marked BlizzCon demo come from ForeverChanges' notes on Blizzard's September demo run of this dungeon (their dungeon page). Items from the client's loot block that nobody has looted yet are marked probable. Bosses are in the order the client numbers them.

encounter 3310Has its own kill statistic since build 70009, like the Shade. Summoned, not found: a player reports that Lyn the Ignored appears when you stand in a summoning circle in Dalaran holding the Tome of Dalaran. You make that tome at the Ambermill Leyline Focus from the Black Tome, a quest item picked up in Shadowfang Keep's last boss room. The Black Tome's own Use line confirms the Ambermill step (ForeverChanges' build-70291 item files); the rest is the player's report.

encounter 3311In the first run, Graveweave Bindings dropped from the first boss the group killed; the player did not name it. ForeverChanges' notes put Atrexis first in the demo, and the item's name echoes his: so Atrexis, from those two hints (inferred). The demo also saw a crossbow from him, the Gravespike Repeater (per ForeverChanges); a later run looted one, with no boss recorded, so it sits here by the demo notes and the name (inferred).

Names hint at bosses (Blightleaf at the Fel Ancient, Manascale and the Violet robe at the mana bosses), by name only (inferred). Nine more rows are unnamed: see the block below.

QuestBank 3.6.2 records which boss dropped what in players' runs, so this list fills itself from now on.
A probable boss-loot block inferred
The client has 24 gear rows numbered right after the Excavation Site's boss loot (Saltspine, Shadetooth and the Relic Guardian, items 273022 to 273030). All 24 have been in the client since day one, without stats: the server sends those. Fifteen now have names and numbers: ten were in Wowhead's Forever database by October 3, five days before the dungeon opened; ForeverChanges' build-70291 item files carry all 15; and two runs looted ten of them, with the game's own tooltips in the uploads.
Why they look like Dalaran's loot:
- They sit next to the last dungeon's loot.
- Their item levels (31 to 35, requiring 26 to 30) fit a 28 to 33 dungeon.
- Three names match ForeverChanges' demo drops.
- The robe is a Violet Sorcerer's piece.
- Ten of the 24 have now been looted in Dalaran in a run, and the demo saw three drop (the Drape in both).
The 15 named rows are placed in the cards above: twelve by a sighting (ten in a run, three at the demo, the Drape in both), three as probable only. Nine rows have no name in any source (Wowhead answers 404 for them):
Quests and their 16 rewards
All 13 Dalaran quest IDs are in every client since build 70009 (the first whose quest table wago serves), and none changed since. Players' loot records hold seven of them with rewards: 16 items, item level 36, bind on pickup, no level requirement; all rare at build 70245, ten uncommon at 70291 (below). Per ForeverChanges' quest list, each dungeon quest pays 9,400 XP in the beta, which already counts the October 1 cut to dungeon-quest XP.
Power Overwhelming Alliance
From High Sorcerer Andromath in Stormwind: 8 QuestBank uploads place him at 48.8, 87.7.
Heart of Disruption Alliance
From the Image of Archmage Modera outside the city: 4 uploads place her at 68.7, 45.1 on the Silverpine Forest map.
Heart of Disruption Horde
The two versions share one completion bit in the client: one quest in two faction versions (inferred).
Starving Arcane Both
Also from the Image of Archmage Modera (4 uploads).

Per ForeverChanges, given by Doctor Martin Felben in the Undercity.
Opportunistic Education Horde
Two rewards that have no name anywhere yet: a ring and a leather belt. The client has their item rows; Wowhead answers 404 for both. That is why the loot records hold seven quests and not eight.
All 16 rewards at build 70291: ten turned green
The 16 rewards are server-sent: no client build has a stats row for them, so the client cannot show whether Blizzard's cut of "Various Dungeon Quest Rewards" to uncommon Blizzard Oct 8 reached them. Two sources can. Seven were read in game at 70291 after the run above; ForeverChanges' item files, now at build 70291, carry all 16, line for line what the game printed for those seven. Ten turned uncommon and were re-statted; four stay rare with stats moved; two are unchanged. Flip the control to see each one at 70245.

All 16: item level 36, bind on pickup, no level requirement in the tooltip (the client's reward rows say required level 1; the Forge uses the quest's level instead). The first seven were read in game; the other nine are ForeverChanges' build-70291 item files. Hover or tap a name for the full tooltip and the 70245 line.
Quest items, all in the client since day one: Arcane Mote, Cracked Sentry Core, Fel Infused Blossom, The Founding of Dalaran, Tome of Dalaran.
The Violet Sorcerer's Vestments get their bonuses
- 70009Set added with five pieces and no bonuses. Our 70009 piece marked it "City of Dalaran?".
- 70170Unchanged.
- 70291Four bonuses, and first item appearances for the legs, feet and hands.
The client's proc chance column reads 100 for both procs while their texts say "Chance", so the real chances are server-side: not known. The Krol'dok Battlegear's 4-piece uses the same "Strongholds and Cities" clause; whether the Dalaran instance counts as a City is not shown. Blizzard's notes say "new armorset shoulder pieces" were shrunk to the right size; whether that includes this set's shoulders is not known.
The Kirin Tor, and spells that fit an arcane dungeon
Faction 2740 has been in the client since day one. Humans, Dwarves, Night Elves and Gnomes start at neutral since build 70009 (was −12000), the High Order Skyborne at friendly (3000), everyone else at −42000.
Mana Void (90 Arcane damage within 60 yards, and a 5 sec silence), three Drain Mana spells, an Arcane Explosion that silences, and two Blinks are new in 70291 and belong to no class. They fit a Kirin Tor enemy kit, by theme only (inferred): the client does not say who casts what.
Headlines only; we did not use their articles: Wowhead, "What to Do in Dalaran" (Sep 29) and "Week 4 Beta Content - City of Dalaran Dungeon Available" (Oct 8). Icy Veins, "a 20% Mob XP Boost" (Oct 8).
Still unknown
- Which boss drops what. Ten block items were looted in two runs, but the addon then recorded no boss: the Drape is placed by the kill popup, Graveweave Bindings by the boss order, four more by their names alone (all inferred), and four not at all; three demo drops are placed by ForeverChanges' notes. No players' loot record names a boss drop yet.
- Names of four Violet pieces, nine rows in the probable block, and two Opportunistic Education rewards.
- The set's proc chances, and what the Arcane elemental (creature 277729) does.
- Three missing bosses: where the Mana Devourer, Mana Elemental and Mana Wraith went.
- Map 2980 "Dalaran City", a second Dalaran map on the Eastern Kingdoms continent, and what it is for.
Class changes, class by class
Hover or tap any icon for the client's tooltip, 70170 against 70291. Every row says where it comes from. Several Warrior changes were announced for October 1 and show up in a client file for the first time now: they likely ran as server-side hotfixes on top of 70170 (inferred; wago's files carry no hotfixes). For 70170's own class pass, see the level-30 overview; every talent is live in the Forge.
Showing Paladin and the changes for every class.
The low-rank rebase
The client's SpellEffect bears that out on every spell Blizzard names: 36 ranks moved, and no spell-power coefficient did.
Blizzard: the base points and points per level of ranks 1 to 5 were adjusted “to make the growth rate … more consistent, and new ranks always an upgrade”.

Base and per level are SpellEffect's own values. "At max level" is base plus per level times the levels between learning the rank and its max level: Classic's rule, so the formula is inferred and its inputs are client data. The game rolls a range around these numbers; the variance did not change. Frostbolt's damage is its second effect. Arcane Missiles shows the damage per missile (spells 7268 to 7270).
Items: greens, lower item levels, 21 new rows
Every number in this section is the client's: ItemSparse rows of both builds, decoded from the item budget the way the database reads them. Armor and weapon damage are computed from the client's own tables. Hover or tap any item for its 70291 tooltip and what it was in 70170.
Excavation Site: Wetlands rewards cut Blizzard Oct 8
Blizzard's notes say “Various Dungeon Quest Rewards” had their rarity lowered “to Uncommon from Rare”, with stats to match.
The notes name no item; the client names these. Quests are per players' loot records.

- unchanged: the client row is identical in both builds
Songblade Stabilizer, the other "Fallen in the Fen" reward, has no client row, so whether it turned green is not known. Gear lists built on build-70245 data would still carry the old rare versions (inferred); ForeverChanges moved its item files to 70291 on October 9.
66 items dropped in quality
Every piece and Ensemble of Shen'dorei Magister's, Peacekeeper's and Skyseer's Garb and Al'Aketh Zealot's Garb, and two tabards. Blizzard's pre-purchase page lists such cosmetics among the edition rewards.
The nine Veteran Adventurer's pieces, their Ensemble, the Rucksack and the Shen'dorei Windwell toy. Pachimari goes epic → rare and the Dream Journal epic → uncommon. Their five transmog sets gained a flag bit whose meaning is not confirmed.
Seven are the Excavation Site rewards above. Three have no known source: two amulets that also lost stats, and the Fractured Insignia.
18 Riverglades items lose item levels
Their names match Riverglades places in the client's area table (Southern Watch, Bristle Hills), whose subzones have exploration levels 36 to 44: the Riverglades link is inferred. No source lists these rewards yet. None has a level requirement.

Other reworks
The Whirlwind weapons reward "Whirlwind Weapon" and Rage of the Storm rewards "The Tempest's Weapons", per ForeverChanges' quest list. The site's database flags Whisper as Season of Discovery data. Truthseeker's Bow: Blizzard says it now matches the other "Greater Friend of the Library" rewards Blizzard Oct 8.
21 new item rows
Edward's Knife and Tabitha's Cuffs reward "A Frightened Request" in the Ruins of Lordaeron; their item rows existed before. Blizzard says the Excavation Site's Titan Relic now carries over to the follow-ups Blizzard Oct 8: these two rows are that relic, one per faction (inferred). The rest are bind-on-pickup copies of Classic consumables under new IDs: potions of healing, mana, Swiftness and Free Action, Rumsey Rum Dark, two foods, sharpening stones and a wizard oil. Four more rows have no stats row: a Portable Repair Bot ("After 5 minutes its internal motor fails."), a bag and two miscellaneous items. What hands these out is not in the client: a kit or a vendor (inferred).
Smaller item changes
- Wands sell again, from Novice's Practice Wand at 5c to Greater Eternal Wand at 25s; Minor Wizard Oil drops from 5s to 1s. Blizzard Oct 8
- Recipe: Peace Tea sells for 10c (was 18s 75c). Blizzard Oct 8
- Booty Bay Bruiser's Buckshot lost its knockback effect. Blizzard Oct 8
- Forceful armor kits lost a duplicate ranged Attack Power effect. Blizzard Oct 8
- Horn of Echeyakee is no longer used up (charges −1 to 0). Blizzard Oct 8
- Eye of the Tempest gained the flag that reads as multi-drop (inferred), and so did Corrupted Totems. Blizzard Oct 8
- Transformative Cocoon gained the debuff flag and the Night Watchman's Torch a hidden-aura flag (bit meanings inferred). Blizzard Oct 8
- Ten metal bars, Copper to Elementium, got bag family 1024: they fit mining bags (inferred).
- Five Forever bags are cheaper: 250 copper to buy.
- 21 starter armor pieces changed from Miscellaneous to cloth, leather or mail, and Rugged Trapper's Pants from cloth to leather.
- Curiosities: Parchments of Chaos and Darkness now need Old Tongue and Demon Tongue at 500; Cursed Murloc Eye now hits everything; Improvised Weapon's damage bonus is 20% (was 50%).
- Desolace rewards unchanged in the client. Blizzard tuned 16 Gelkis and Magram rewards and plans a level-35 equip hotfix; the 16 rows are identical in both builds, so the tuning is server-side so far (inferred). Blizzard Oct 8
Three dungeon sets get bonuses
Build 70009 defined Krol'dok Battlegear, Violet Sorcerer's Vestments and Defias Enforcer's Garb with pieces and no payouts. 70291 adds twelve bonus rows. None of their pieces has a stats row yet, so the pieces themselves stay server-side.
"Doubled in Strongholds and Cities", "in swamps", and Rotmender's "Haunted and Wasteland areas": four Forever sets now read a zone type (inferred). No set text that existed in 70170 changed in 70291; we rendered every bonus in both builds. The Rotmender's Raiment rework dates from 70170 and is in the level-30 overview.
Legacy and achievements
A Legacy challenge for testers, a new statistic, an hourly respec, and a reputation reward nobody has announced.
"Granted for playing in the World of Warcraft: Forever Beta. Thanks for testing!" It pays 16 Legacy points through a new currency source, the whole per-character cap. Blizzard: "All Beta players have been granted completion of the Legacy Challenge" Blizzard Oct 8, as Kaivax promised on October 1. Its criterion waits on a world state: a server switch that can be turned off after the beta (inferred). Nothing says whether it carries over to launch.
16 of 16 Legacy points: the whole per-character capThe hidden "[DNT] Legacy Talent Reset" currency now refills one charge per hour (was one per 7 days), the same rate as class talent resets. Build 70009 had made it weekly; 70291 reverses that. Blizzard: the cheapest Legacy respec costs 1 silver during the beta Blizzard Oct 8. The price is not in the client.
A new spell: "Increases your Legacy reputation by 16", on faction 2802, "Legacy Track".
A new statistic, "Times gathered around the campfire". It counts gaining the Camp Benefits aura.
The world, and what comes next
New places above the cap, a raid being wired up, and the hints that point past October.
A new Riverglades subzone (area 17847) with exploration level 41, above the cap. It joins Twilight's Shroud and eighteen more: the client now lists twenty Riverglades places.
A new area (17845) on continent 2981, whose own rows are missing from the export. The client's "Conqueror of the Wilds" challenge lists Hyjal Summit's bosses, among them Nythus the Dreambound and The Wild King. So the Pinnacle is part of the Hyjal Summit raid (inferred), which Blizzard dates to December 9 (roadmap).
"(DNT) Wild King Intro Theater" now fires a new spell every second: the Wild King's intro scene is being wired (inferred). Boss spells moved: Anara Chillwind's Collapsing Star slows 10% (was 35%), Lunar Venting hits for 35 (was 25), and Dreamfall deals 5 every 2 sec (was 10 every 1 sec).
The battleground's minimum players went from 1 to 8: a match needs 8 to start (inferred). The rest agrees with Blizzard's article: 15 a side, levels 30 to 60, first to 2000.
55 trackers now cover every flight point on both continents, Riverglades, Moonglade and Mount Hyjal included. No achievement uses them yet; the flight tables themselves are unchanged.
One new quest ID, 99435, with no name anywhere. The shaman "Call of Earth" variants now share completion bits: finishing one marks its twins done (inferred). Cooking: 21 entries got new skill-up ranges, 19 recipes and two campfires (Swiftstrike Steak turns green at 280, was 175), and Raging Raptor Ribs needs Cooking 180 (was 275).
Also: the Ruins of Lordaeron no longer forces a time of day; Timbermaw Hold lost its mount flag (no mounting there, inferred); Ironclad Cove gained an intro sound; 16 boss rows in Gnomeregan, Blackfathom Deeps and the Sunken Temple moved to a difficulty that matches any (inferred), and Gnomeregan's Grubbis to Normal.
What comes next
- October 21The beta's last full day (Blizzard).
- November 4Launch (Blizzard).
- December 9Hyjal Summit (roadmap).
- No sign of a higher cap. Level tuning, quest XP, the dungeon list, flight paths, maps, toys, titles and mounts are unchanged since 70170. Blizzard said the beta's cap goes to 30 and named no higher one; the beta's last full day is October 21 (Blizzard), and launch is still November 4 (Blizzard).
- Dalaran's loot. Players' records should fill in the boss drops in the coming days, and with them the names of the probable block and the Violet pieces.
- Racials. Wowhead and Icy Veins expect racial changes next week (Wowhead, Icy Veins). Only Will of the Forsaken moved in this build.
- Desolace at 35. Blizzard's "upcoming hotfix" will make 16 Gelkis and Magram rewards require level 35 Blizzard Oct 8.
- Hyjal Summit on December 9, and the 45 dressed items, which belong to content not yet open (inferred).
- PAX Aus. Blizzard's October 8 keynote stream (6:00 p.m. PDT) promised "an exclusive dungeon deep dive" of one new dungeon (Blizzard). This piece is written from the client and does not cover it.
What Blizzard's notes say that the client can't show
These are server rules. The client tables are unchanged for them, or show only a hint, labeled. Source for all: Blizzard's October 8 development notes.
- server ruleDungeon kill XP up about 20%, and party XP by each player's own level, as in Classic Era. The quest-XP and level-tuning tables are unchanged. Blizzard expects "dramatically" more dungeon XP; Aggrend said dungeons should come "very close, if not equal" to questing (Blizzard).
- hint in clientDungeon quest rewards rare to uncommon. Partly visible: the client shows the items it has rows for (section 5), not server-sent ones like the Dalaran rewards (ten of 16 uncommon at 70291, from the game and ForeverChanges' files).
- hint in clientRage from damage. Four fixes: computed from an expected creature's health, not yours; crit and crushing multipliers handled; absorbs ignored; rebalanced around 20 to 40% armor. The only Rage-related table changes are a hidden "Rule of Rage" value (10 to 100) and the Bear passives' removed proc; any link is inferred.
- hint in clientDruid: crit Rage bonus 100% (was 75%), Mana Potions usable in forms, Cat Form no longer lowers max health, Shifting Power unusable at full Energy. Shapeshift-override rules are partly visible (the transform tags).
- server ruleRetribution Aura and Thorns spell-power ratio 13.3% to 6%, and the aura using the paladin's own spell power. The client's coefficient fields did not move.
- hint in clientPenance's channel bug is visible only as the coefficient dropping by a third.
- server ruleHunter: Improved Wing Clip's lower chance on low ranks, pets regaining health repeatedly, Entrapment firing only on Frost Trap's first activation. Mage: Impact no longer procs from Flamestrike's periodic damage.
- server rulePaladin: Seal of Fury returning mana without its talent. Shaman: Flametongue Totem and shapeshifted attack speed, Elemental Focus and Fire Nova, the Mana Tide visual. Warrior: Deep Wounds no longer scales with off-hand Attack Power.
- server rulePvP: critical strikes no longer have reduced efficacy. The Shipwreck Cove capture point moved, but its client position is identical in both builds: that fix is server-side (inferred).
- server ruleQuests: the Desolace "Valley of Bones" quests need level 35 (the client holds no quest levels); Tirisfal's Shadowvale and Bandarion Keep were raised in level.
- server ruleInterface and engine: Classic looting, creature flicker and long pulls, weapon swaps in one global cooldown, the Cooldown Manager for all classes, gamepad Edit Mode, Discord voice, a new Inspect window, quest types as text, "View Talents", level and class on the character pane. These live in interface code or on the server, not in the tables wago exports.
- not checkedDurability. Wowhead reports a smaller durability loss from the resurrection penalty in this build (headline). Neither Blizzard's notes nor the tables show it; we did not check it.

Every table wago.tools serves for build 1.60.1.70291, diffed against 70170. We checked that 70205, 70235 and 70245 serve the same tables, so 70245 adds nothing. Tooltips are resolved from the build's own spell tables; item stats are decoded from the item budget, the same way our database and the Forge read them. wago's files carry no hotfixes, which is why some October 1 changes appear here for the first time.
The October 8 development notes, the October 1 notes and the Warrior update of October 2, linked wherever a row says Blizzard.
as published by ForeverChanges and wowtbc.gg: who drops or rewards what. The client has no Dungeon Journal, so this is the only source for drops. We quote single facts from them with credit (the demo drops, quest givers, 9,400 XP) and link their pages; we copied none of their write-ups. Numbers for the 16 Dalaran rewards and the 15 named rows of the boss-loot block come from ForeverChanges' item files at build 70291 (they moved from 70245 to 70291 on October 9) and, where a player hovered an item, from the game itself.
Had names and numbers for ten rows of the Dalaran boss-loot block by October 3, five days before the dungeon opened, read through its Forever tooltips by the site's item database; where ForeverChanges' build-70291 files or the game now differ, the tooltip shows Wowhead's line as what it had. Also the name of creature 246020. Labeled wherever used.
Players' uploads from the QuestBank addon, pulled October 9: quest-giver positions, and build-70291 tooltips read in game over two Dalaran runs: seven quest rewards and ten boss drops, with the item lists carried after each run. No player, guild or realm names are used.
Two runs of the dungeon gave the uploads above (the item lists and the tooltips), the clip, and how Lyn the Ignored is summoned. What the clip shows (the boss on screen, a kill popup, a loot line) is read from the frame and marked inferred where it is a reading, as is any boss a drop is placed on by the account of the run or an item's name; what the player reports from play is marked as their report. Names in the still are blurred, and none is used.
marks our reading: a link between two facts, a flag's meaning, a formula. Everything else is a value from a table or a quoted source.
